What’s one piece of gear you don’t leave home without?
Jason: Living in the mountains, I never leave home without some water, Rudy sunglasses and my Big Agnes Smokin’ Axle puffy. I never stop moving once I’m outside biking, hiking, running, or skiing. If I get a little cold, I just work a little harder. I love the invisible zipper on the chest for my phone and the crazy awesome pocket on the side that stows a snack or whatever BEHIND my back and out of the way. This is my one quiver coat for sure.
What drives you to adventure?
Jason: Exploring nature simply and human powered adventure drives me. I also love challenging myself daily and others every once in a while. Seeing my son Felix enjoy wild places continues to be a motivating factor to explore together.
What’s on your bucket list for 2020?
Jason: Racing Madeira Island Ultra Trail 120k in April, attempting an FKT in the Rainbow Mountains Peru, Hardrock 100 mile in July and Run Rabbit Run 100 mile on Steamboat in September.
What do you do to give back, why are you passionate about that?
Jason: I’m passionate about inspiring others and being a leader in my sport and the outdoor community. Speaking out on issues regarding mountain athletics, conserving and protecting wild lands globally, and advocating for these areas as best I can. I’m passionate about all this because I can make the biggest difference here.
What keeps you stoked on Big Agnes?
Jason: Big Agnes is an amazing Colorado based family that creates fantastic gear to go play outside and appreciate our world. Big Agnes not only cares about our planet, they take action and partner with organizations out there working to protect our home.
